Ann Ione (Burkley) Rhea Crowe, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2107 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Elmer Patrick Burkley, Sr. and Hannah Elizabeth (Irwin) Burkley, she was born July 14, 1934 in Bairdstown, PA (Derry Township).
Mrs. Crowe was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.
She loved spending time with her family especially on holidays and sitting around the campfire swapping stories. She enjoyed her rides through the country while eating a butter pecan ice cream cone, eating out at local diners, and reading Alex Cross books.
Surviving are 11 children, daughter, Carol Tarasovich (John) of Blairsville; daughter, Karen Rhea of Blairsville; son, Henry E. Rhea, Jr. (Diane) of Blairsville; daughter, Connie Crowe (Jonathan) of Wind Gap; son, Kevin Rhea (Marvis) of Blairsville; daughter, Kimberly Duralia (R. Daniel) of Blairsville; son, David Rhea (Angela) of Blairsville; daughter, Cynthia Domurat (John) of Latrobe; son, William Crowe (Donna) of Westmont; daughter, Kathleen Rhea of Indiana and daughter, Colleen Schaeffer (Mark) of Blairsville; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Quick of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Elmer Patrick Rhea in 1953; her first husband, Henry E. Rhea, Sr. in 1972; second husband, William R. Crowe in 1996; a brother, E. Patrick Burkley, Jr.; a sister, Mildred L. Keeno and a stepson, Frank N. Crowe.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Thursday. Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 A.M. Friday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay as celebrant.
Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
