The Homer-Center Wildcats committed four errors but rallied to defeat Conemaugh Valley, 10-6, in the District 6 Class 1A quarterfinals Saturday at First Commonwealth Bank Field.
Pitcher Jayke Saiani started for Homer-Center, but the defense committed three errors behind him, all contributing to a 5-0 lead for Conemaugh Valley, the No. 7 seed. Nathaniel Davis relieved Saiani and pitched four scoreless innings for the win.
Homer-Center, the No.2 seed, scored five runs on four hits in its half of the fourth inning to take the lead and added two in the sixth.
