The Pens offense came alive and beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 last night in Ottawa to even the series at two games apiece.
The scoring started late in the first period, as Olli Matta scored at the 19:14 mark of the first period, with assists going to Sidney Crosby and Jake Guentzel. Crosby would score in the second period when he parked himself by the goal and swept the puck in. Guentzel and Phil Kessel assisted on the second goal at the 7:41 mark of the secodn period. Brian Dumolin got his first goal of the NHL Playoffs at the 11:30 mark of the second period. Clayke McArthur of Ottawa socred in the second period at the 1:32 left on the clock in the 2nd. In the third, Ottawa got closer with a goal by Tom Pyatt at the 14:59 mark. But Matt Murray stood tall and stopped the rest of the shots in the game. Murray, in his first start this post-season, stopped 24 of 26 shots.
