It’s Indiana County Sports Hall of Fame weekend. Sunday night at the Rustic Lodge, eight individuals who made their mark on the sports scene will be inducted in the 34th annual event.
The class of 2017 includes…
– Frank Berzansky and Ed Kozar, longtime assistant football coaches at Blairsville high school
– J.T. Yard, baseball All American at Point Park and Indiana County League standout
– Mike Hilliard, Homer Center and Duquesne University record-setting running back
– John Riggle, outstanding running back/linebacker at Elders Ridge and Georgia Tech
– Kathy Sherry Newquist, Indiana and IUP basketball and Marion Center coach
– Jim Klyapp, Administrator and A. D. at Purchase Line
– The late William Buggey, world class boxing great from the early 20th century
