Indiana’s softball season ended Wednesday afternoon with an 11-1 mercy-rule loss to Yough in the WPIAL Class 4A quarterfinals.
Indiana was held to just two hits. Lauren Bertig had one of those hits and scored Indiana’s run on a single by Madison Barker with two outs in the fourth inning.
Yough, the defending state champion and current WPIAL No. 1 seed, scored seven runs in the fifth inning to end the game.
Bertig was the losing pitcher, allowing 10 hits with four strikeouts.
Indiana concluded its season with a record of 11-8 overall and 7-3 in its section.
