Richard Allen Griffith, 70, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 while at Allegheny Valley Hospital.
The son of Neil and Emogene (Van Horn) Griffith, he was born March 7, 1947 in Indiana, PA.
Richard was a 1966 graduate of Marion Center High School where he wrestled and participated in track. He had been employed by R&P Coal Company and then employed as an independent truck driver. As a Veteran, he had served in the Army during Vietnam and was stationed in Germany. In Richard’s spare time he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Surviving are his children, Nicole (Russ) Ballard, Hemet, CA and Kim Ramos, Hemet, CA; grandchildren, Zachary and Nicholas Ballard, Hemet, CA; twin brother, Roger Griffith, Indiana; sisters, Carol (Paul) Weaver, Home, Donna (Tom) Brubaker, Indiana, and Joyce (Albert) Patal, Butler; brother, Dennis Griffith, Home; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceding in death by his parents.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Old Mahoning Baptist Church in Smicksburg on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Micah McMillen, officiating.
Interment in the Smicksburg Cemetery will be private.
The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home in Indiana is assisting the family.
