The White Township Supervisors approved bids for the year’s paving projects.
This year, the Supervisors heard bids for two different options for paving: The traditional hot mix, and what has been dubbed a “warm mix”, which is a different combination of paving materials, and doesn’t take as long to warm up for it to be used, making it more energy efficient. The low bid went to Derry Construction as they had the low bids for both the hot mix option and the warm mix option, with both bids coming in at a total of $206,082. The supervisors also approved a seal-coat bid from Suit-Kote Corporation in the amount of $30,523. Those bids are conditional on final approval from Township Manager Milt Lady.
In other business, the supervisors approved fencing bids. Penn Fencing won both projects being offered by the board. One project will focus on repairs to the fences at the baseball fields at the White Township Recreation Complex and the other is for the dog park at Getty Heights Park.
