Drivers are urged to be alert as traffic patterns are changing again on Route 22 in Blairsville, where a bridge rehabilitation project is underway at the Indiana-Westmoreland County line.
PennDOT says to expect congestion and delays as the eastbound lanes will change to two-way traffic between Jonnet Road and Dixon Street, with westbound traffic using a crossover to the eastbound lanes. In addition, the westbound Route 217 on-ramp will close for the remainder of the summer. The changes will also mean a reduction in the construction zone speed limit, which prompts the reminder that fines are doubled for violations within a work zone.
PennDOT says the changes will be in effect before Friday. The $4.65 million project is expected to be completed before the end of September.
