INDIANA BOROUGH
Indiana Borough Police have arrested an Indiana man on charges of DUI and drug possession. Police say on March 23rd around 5:00 PM, 26-year-old Christopher Barnicle was involved in a crash in the 1200 block of Maple Street, and when police made contact with him, he was under the influence of Heroin. After he was taken into custody for driving under the influence of a controlled substance, police found stamp bags of heroin and other drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. Along with DUI, Barnicle faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two other traffic citations.
Two men were involved in two different fights at establishments in downtown Indiana early Sunday morning. Indiana Borough Police say around 12:21 AM on Sunday, they were called out to one establishment in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street and found that Anthony Darden of Indiana was involved in a fight inside the establishment. He was cited for disorderly conduct and released.
A bigger fight was reported about an hour later in the same block. Police say 23-year-old Daquan Minter of Johnstown was seen walking away from the fight, and was intoxicated. When police ordered him to stop, he ran away, but was apprehended shortly after. Minter was found in possession of a stolen cell phone. He was lodged in Indiana County Jail on a temporary detainer, but a criminal complaint was filed with District Judge Guy Haberl on charges of theft, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.
HOMER CITY BOROUGH
State Police from Indiana have charged a 45-year-old Homer City woman with harassment after a fight in Homer City Borough. Police say the fight happened at 5:46 PM on Sunday on Kunkle Drive. The verbal argument turned physical when the victim, a 22-year-old Indiana woman went to a car. When she sat down, Tammy Kay Smith of Homer City approached the vehicle and tried to punch the victim through a window that was half-way rolled down before opening the door and punching the victim in the face.
