On Monday, the Indiana School Board will meet and up for approval on the agenda are two major items.
One item is an agreement between the District and the Indiana Area Teachers Association and an accompanying Memorandum of Agreement between the two parties. Information on the actual agreement itself has not been released as of yet.
Another item up for approval is the 2017-2018 tentative budget for the Indiana School District. The tentative budget has a final amount of $55,697,253 in expenses. The expenditures are within a $1,560,401 of revenue increase, which represents the highest amount of money that the district can increase taxes without going to referendum on the ballot. This is just the first approval of the budget, as the final budget is set to be adopted on June 26th. After Monday Night, the budget will be posted at the district office for public inspection.
The board will also look to approve a lengthy list of extra duty-extra pay assignments for people connected with the district, including athletic coaching positions.
