The Indiana County Office of Planning and Development has announced their annual “Bike To School Day” will be held May 12th.
With May being celebrated as National Bike Month, the Office of Planning and Development have teamed with the County Commissioners and the Indiana School District, IRMC, IUP’s Institute for Rural Health and Safety, Indiana Borough and the County Sheriffs office to hold the 18th annual Bike to School Day. The event will be held once again at the KCAC and kids will bike to either Horace Mann or Eisenhower from there. The actual event starts at 7:30 with registration and a breakfast rally. Traditionally, bike safety checks are also held to make sure that the bikes are in top form for the event. The actual ride starts at 8:10 as the Commissioners, Sheriffs, Borough Police and teachers and administrators will lead the kids to their schools.
If you want more information on the event, you can contact Josh Krug at the Planning and Developmetn office at 724-465-3877, or IASD’s Transportation and Safety Director Mike Travis at 724-463-7591.
