Indiana County’s emergency responders were scrambling yesterday when the wind and rain hit the area. Between one o’clock in the afternoon and midnight, they handled almost two dozen calls, with some fire companies dispatched multiple times.
The calls included an accident on Clymer Road in Cherryhill Township and another crash on Deckers Point Road in East Mahoning Township; trees down across Leech Avenue in Conemaugh Township, the Patchen Highway in Cherry Tree, Old Route 56 in Center Township, Hamill Road in Pine Township, Clark Road in Montgomery Township, and Diamondville Road in Cherryhill Township; utility lines down on Rexis Road in Buffington Township, Mary Street in Robinson, and Kerr Avenue in Montgomery Township; a tree and utility line down on Arcadia Road in Montgomery Township and trees on utility lines along Rhine Road in Center Township, Rayne Run Road in Rayne Township, Rock Run Road in Montgomery Township, and West Creek Road in East Mahoning Township.
Additional storm calls yesterday included power line arcing along Clarksburg Road in Conemaugh Township; a transformer on fire along Route 286 in Rayne Township; a couple of pumping details along Third Street in Center Township; and a three-alarm brush fire along Diehl Road in Cherryhill Township.
