Indiana borough police report a drug bust at 548 South 7th Street last evening.
Borough police were summoned to the apartment of Markeice Goodwine of Erie for a disturbance around 8:20 PM Saturday evening. Police suspected drugs were inside and a search warrant was obtained. With the assistance of the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office, IUP Police Dept., and Homer City Police Dept., a search of the residence produced multiple pieces of contraband, including marijuana, cocaine, Xanax, drug paraphernalia, and drug money. Items were seized and police arrested Goodwine for felony drug possession with intent to sell. He was taken to the Indiana County Jail to await arraignment on multiple charges.
State police say a 42-year-old Cherry Tree man has been involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old Mahaffey girl over the last two months. Police say it occurred between March 1st and this past Wednesday at a home on Main Street in Cherry Tree. The investigation into the statutory sexual assault remains open.
A Pittsburgh man caught driving 80 miles per hour in a 55 mile-per-hour zone on Route 22 in West Wheatfield Township two weeks ago is facing drug charges. William Schach had a tall plastic smoking device with suspected marijuana residue in it, a metal grinder, and a small amount of suspected pot in a garbage bag in the back seat of his vehicle.
