The Pirates looked to complete a three-game sweep of the Miami Marlins Sunday at Marlins Park but lost, 10-3, as the Marlins ripped the Bucs bullpen for seven runs.
The Pirates scored three runs in the first inning, which included a two-run home run by Josh Bell.
Miami chipped away until taking a 4-3 lead in the fifth inning. The Marlins broke the game open in the seventh inning with six runs, including five surrendered by reliever Daniel Hudson.
The Pirates road trip continues Monday night at Cincinnati. Airtime on AM 1160 WCCS and 101.1 FM is 6:45 p.m.
