The Penguins won Game 1 of their second-round NHL playoff series with the Washington Capitals, 3-2, on Thursday night at the Verizon Center.
Nick Bonino scored a tiebreaking goal with 7:24 remaining in the third period for the win.
Sidney Crosby scored twice in the first 1:04 of the second period to give the Penguins a 2-0 lead. Washington answered with goals in the second and third periods.
Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 33 saves.
Game 2 is Saturday night.
