Indiana County’s road construction season continues to ramp up, with PennDOT issuing several updates in the last couple of days.
CENTER TOWNSHIP
Work will resume next week on the $9.3 million Route 119 Homer City North Roadway Improvement Project in Center Township. Starting on Monday, Lockard Avenue and its intersection with Yankeetown Avenue Extension will close. Lockard Avenue will be reconstructed between Route 119 and the Yankeetown Avenue Extension.
Daylight single-lane closures will resume on Monday on Route 119 and Lucerne Road. There will be congestion and delays. The project is scheduled for completion in the late fall.
PLUMVILLE
Progress continues on the Route 85 bridge replacement in Plumville. PennDOT says utilities are being relocated in the project area near Rossmoyne Road, and once that’s done, a temporary traffic signal will be installed for the bridge, road, and drainage portion of the $1.97 million project. The bridge is being replaced by a box culvert. It’s supposed to be finished sometime in December.
CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP
The replacement of the Clarksburg Road Bridge in Conemaugh Township will begin the week of May 8th. It’s part of the state’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. A detour will be in place redirecting traffic from Clarksburg Road to Tunnelton Road and Saltsburg Road. Construction is expected to be complete by mid-June.
