State Police say a Rossiter Woman was one of two people injured in a crash on Thursday in nearby Bell Township in Jefferson County.
Troopers say 54-year-old Patricia Matthews of Punxsutawney was driving North on Route 36 and trying to turn left onto Elderberry Hill Road, and was distracted for an unknown reason. That caused her to drift into the Southbound lane of 36, and did not see 22-year-old Morgain Holeva of Rossiter coming in the southbound lane. Matthews’ SUV hit Holeva’s SUV in the driver’s side rear corner. Matthews’ vehicle continued to skid and rolled over on its passenger side before hitting a utility pole on the west side of the road and it ended up on it’s roof on the west side of the road. Holeva’s SUV came to a stop on the west side of the road.
Both drivers suffered suspected minor injuries and were taken to Punxsutawney Hospital for treatment of injuries. Matthews will be cited for Careless Driving.
