PennDOT says roadwork will begin next week on the Route 22 eastbound and westbound bridge project in Blairsville.
Starting on Monday, long-term single-lane restrictions will be in place in both directions between Jonnet Road and Dixon Street. The $4.65 million rehabilitation project will include substructure and deck repair, drainage work, and painting on the bridge carrying Route 22 over the Conemaugh River, Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks, and Route 217. PennDOT says to expect congestion on the heavily-traveled highway. That project is expected to be completed before the end of September.
Also, the Route 119 ramps connecting the Route 119 bypass and Route 422 in White Township will close to traffic next week as part of the Route 422 South 6th Street Bridge replacement project. The ramps will be closed for about two weeks, starting this Monday.
It’s a $10.2 million project that is scheduled for completion before the end of July.
