Anna Lillian “Anne” Williams

Anna Lillian “Anne” Williams, age 101 of Indiana, formerly of Erie and Albion, PA, died on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Beacon Ridge Nursing Center.
She was born in 1916 to Walter A. and Eugenia M. Case Wood. Anne was a graduate of Albion High School in 1933 and the Hamat School of Nursing in 1937. She was the quintessential nurse, working at Haman Hospital doing private duty nursing, and as a nurse with the VNA of Erie County.
She was the consummate family care giver. She loved playing cards, especially Pinocle.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald R. “Don” Williams, whom she married on September 26, 1937 in Ripley, NY where they eloped. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary I. Nash and a brother William L. Wood.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda A. Maxson and husband Robert, Girard; Sherry L Cathcart and husband Eugene, Indiana; brothers, James L. Wood, Carmel, CA; and the Rev. Frank
Wood, North Tonawanda, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Darcy Cathcart Dills, Christina Maxson and husband Justin Green, Dawn Erin Cikowski and husband Bryan, Megan Maxson and husband Robert Garcia, Dr. Cara Maxson, and Eric Cathcart and wife Melissa. Anne is further survived by 10 great grandchildren – Miles, Bailey, Laken, Jack, Alexa, Kaylee, Lily, Isabel, Julian, and Byron.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the Albion Cemetery. A family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
