Andrew McCutchen hit a three-run homer in a five-run seventh inning and the Pirates went on to defeat the Chicago Cubs again, 8-7, at Wrigley Field Saturday.
The Pirates hit three other homers, all solo shots: Francisco Cervelli hit his second in the second inning, Starling Marte hit his second in the sixth inning and Josh Harrison hit his first of the year in the seventh inning.
Tyler Glasnow made a second rough start for the Pirates, giving up four earned runs. But Glasnow made it to the fifth inning this time and the Bucs’ seventh-inning rally took him off the hook.
Trevor Williams picked up the win and Tony Watson earned his fourth save.
The Pirates improved to 5-6. The Pirates go for the three-game sweep against the Cubs on Sunday at 2:20 p.m.
