In a joint announcement, Senator Don White and Representatives Dave Reed and Chris Dush say their annual job fair will move to the Kovalchick Complex after years at the S&T Bank Arena. The job fair is scheduled for May 4th.
Reed says the move to the KCAC will allow the job fair to have more involvement from the IUP community, and perhaps could keep them living and working here. And coming right before graduation, Senator White says it’s a prime opportunity for local companies to meet with motivated individuals.
IUP President Michael Driscoll says he’s pleased that the event is moving to campus, which offers the resources of the university’s Career and Professional Development Center.
In addition to White, Reed, and Dush, other sponsors include the Indiana office of PA CareerLink, the county commissioners, and the Chamber of Commerce. CareerLink’s Kevin Lazor says they are hopeful tat the change in venue will give graduating seniors and local jobseekers the opportunity to find a career and stay in the region.
