The Indiana County Commissioners have returned from the Spring meeting of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania, where they found that other counties are dealing with many of the same issues we are.
Indiana County Commissioners Chairman Mike Baker said that one of the meetings was “Weathering the Fiscal Storm”, talking about the problems that many of the counties are facing, and he said that a lot of the problems are the same, no matter the size of the county.
Baker also said that he heard that a lot of the counties were doing some of the same things that Indiana County was doing concerning their budget, and that has given him some encouragement that Indiana County is doing the right things with their budget.
One concern that every county shares is how to keep state funding moving to Human Service and Children and Youth Service agencies during a state budget impasse.
