President Donald Trump signed an executive order to roll back the Clean Power Plan set up by President Barack Obama. Joining him were several miners from a local mining company.
A group of 25 miners from Rosebud Mining Company went down to Washington DC for the ceremony, with 13 of them standing behind Donald Trump when he signed the executive order. Scott Troutman with Rosebud mining wasn’t on stage but was very impressed with the proceedings. He also called the executive order important, but he had concerns with how the other branches of government would deal with it.
The executive order was a campaign promise of President Trump’s. During his presidency, President Obama pledged to cut emissions by 26 percent from 2005 levels by 2025. The plan would have closed hundreds of coal-fired power plants, stopped construction of new plants, and replaced them with wind and solar farms.
