Charges are pending against an Indiana man in connection with a chase in Indiana Borough and White Township Friday evening.
State Police say that a 59-year-old man from Indiana, whose name was not released by police, failed to stop for police during an attempted traffic stop by Indiana Borough police at 7:45 PM in the 900 block of Philadelphia Street. The driver refused to pull his pickup truck over and he tried to hit the police vehicle on two occasions. The suspect was able to get away, but was spotted by state troopers in White Township. A chase started after the suspect swerved towards the state police vehicles. After the suspect ran several red lights and endangered other motorists with his erratic driving, state police used a PIT technique to end the pursuit, and the suspect crashed the truck into a concrete sign base.
Charges of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment, fleeing and eluding police, reckless driving, and multiple traffic offenses are pending.
