Gladys Jean Risinger, 85, of Homer City, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at her residence.
A daughter of the late Andrew W. and Janet Miller Smith, she was born March 11, 1931, in Indiana.
Mrs. Risinger was a graduate of Laura Lamar High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Risinger enjoyed crocheting, gardening, canning, reading, painting ceramics and taking care of her family.
She is survived by five children: Connie Morris and husband James, of Alverda; Kathryn Rupert and husband Randall, of Homer City; Amy Ondo and husband Joe, of Homer City; Jeffrey Risinger and Donna, of Homer City; Doris Jean Risinger, of Florida; a brother, Andrew W. Smith, Jr.; a sister, Pauline Simonds; a daughter-in-law, Debra Risinger, of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special dogs, Cha Cha and Taz; and a parrot, Billy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Risinger; a son, John Risinger; a brother, Roger Smith; and an infant sister, Doris Smith.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. Additional visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Church Cemetery.
