Eleanor M. Gray Katz, 83, of Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late William M. and Edna W. Adams Gray, she was born March 5, 1934, in Sagamore.
Mrs. Katz was a graduate of Indiana High School. She had worked at K-Mart as a greeter and a sales clerk. Mrs. Katz was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Indiana Historical Society and a life member of the Degree of Honor. She loved her animals and enjoyed knitting and researching her family genealogy.
She is survived by two children: Mark L. Katz, of Indiana; Brenda M. Peterson, of York; four grandchildren: Michael N. Peterson, Megan E. Caldwell and husband Eric A.; Benjamin T. Katz, Rachel A. Katz; and special knitting friends: Helen Fiddler and Jayne Bennet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Katz; and a son-in-law, Murray Peterson.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Denny Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
