David J. Brown, age 93 of Indiana, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.
He was born in 1924 in Ernest to Charlton and Margaret Jones Brown.
Dave attended the Calvary United Methodist Church, Brush Valley. He was a member of the VFW Post #1989 and the UMWA Local #488.
A veteran of WW II he served in the US Army with the 362 Fighter Group.
He was employed as a supply store keeper for R&P Coal Co. for 41 years until his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his wife Teresa M. Eamigh Brown, Indiana; one son and one daughter, Donald Brown, Lucernemines; Nancy Coffman and husband Richard, Brush Valley; two grandchildren Shaney Brown and companion Pete Sanida, Blairsville; Michael Brown and companion Keeley Hancox, Pittsburgh; one great grandson, Austin Kwisnek, Pittsburgh; three step-children, Kenneth Eamigh and wife Helen, Harrisburg; Anna Mary Henry and husband Dan, Brush Valley; Larry Eamigh and wife Nancy, Brush Valley; and by many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, step-nieces and nephews. David especially wanted to acknowledge Lesa and Lonnie “Bud” Brown for all of their caring support.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his first wife Mary N. Mistretta Brown in 2000, and by the following siblings, Robert E. Brown, Betty Nanni, Fay Stenman, Thomas Brown, and infant William Brown.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 with the Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery with the VFW Post #1989 providing gravesite military honors.
