Mary Theophane (McCoy) Balls, 91 of Lucernemines died March 1, 2017 at home. The daughter of the late Donald and Ethel McCoy, she was born November 24, 1925.
She was a member of the Indiana Eagles and the Homer City American Legion for many years. She was a member of the Homer City Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her husband Raymond K. Balls whom she married September 20, 1947. They were married for 69 years.
Survived by four daughters and two sons, Wanda Priest of Lucernemines, Christine Balls of Lucernemines, Doris Peiffer of Indiana, Kenneth Balls of Export, Mary Yosurack and husband Pete of Indiana, Raymond and wife Kathy of Hanover Twp., her nine grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters and one brother, Sister Eleanor McCoy of Boden, Mrs. Ruth Demich of Shelocta, Ethel DeIuliis of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Hollman of Michigan and brother Patrick of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, John Balls, one daughter, Ethel Springer, four granddaughters and one grandson, Kim Henning, Amy Springer, Mikayla , Kelsey, and Michael Balls; sisters, Catherine, Dorothy, Doris and infant Bernice and brothers, William, Robert, Donald and daughter-in-law Diane Balls.
Friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City were services will be held on Saturday.

America 250
The America250 celebration is coming up. Are you doing anything special?
Yes! Can't wait for the Friday night parade and Saturday's YMCA Star Spangled Celebration at Mack Park!
We'll do our typical picnic and sparklers thing!
We're traveling to some great U.S. historical sites, such as Philadelphia or Washington, D.C.
Nothing special. Just a typical weekend at our house.
