On Monday, Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor paid a visit to the Homer-Center School District to take a look at how STEM education is a part of the district.
Lt. Governor Mike Stack visited several classes as part of his tour of campus, and got to see how classes are focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics with Project Lead The Way. Stack said he was encouraged by what he saw, especially how eager the students are to learn, and the spirit of collaboration he saw with students.
House Majority Leader Dave Reed was also in attendance for the tour. The Homer-Center graduate was happy with how things went, and even a little jealous that he never got to experience some of the classes now being offered when he was in school.
The visit was arranged by State Senator Don White, who recommended the district because of their use of Project Lead the Way, a study path that uses activity, project, and problem-based instruction to help students apply their classroom work to everyday life.
