In a celebration of the Golden Anniversary of the Indiana County Parks and Trails program, three local businesses made a donation to help out the trail that all three are situated along.
Disobedient Spirits in Homer City, and Levity and Noble Stein breweries in Indiana announced they made a combined $1200 donation to Indiana County Parks and Trails to help with the maintenance of the Hoodlebug Trail. Each business sold one specialty product to help raise the funds. In this case, Levity sold their Hooldebug Brown Ale, Disobedent Spirits made a special Hoodlebug Gin, and Noble Stein sold Stoney Run Ale, which is a reference to a stream that runs along the Hoodlebug Trail.
The three businesses are located along portions of the Hoodlebug, and wanted to not only contribute to the upkeep of the shared asset, but thank the Parks and Rec service for their hard work.
As part of the fundraiser, there was a tasting event held in October where people would travel the trail and sample from all three establishments, and there were also presentations on the evolution of the trail and the history of the flora and fauna there. That event will be held again this year in September.
