Margaret I. Swan, 96, of Homer City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at Bethany Place.
A daughter of the late William Albert and Bertha I. Blakley Graham, she was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Center Township, Indiana County.
Mrs. Swan was a graduate of Indiana High School. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Jacksonville United Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Swan was also a member of the Jacksonville Missionary Society. She enjoyed flower gardening and being with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by five children: Marbeth Steele, of Prattville, AL; Jack Swan and wife Madalyn, of Homer City; Joan Lockhart, of Indiana; Barb Stewart and husband Charlie, of Armagh; Tom Swan and special friend Donna Lunn, of Homer City; a sister-in-law, Georgia Lou Graham, of Homer City; seven grandchildren: Jonathan and Christopher Steele, Ryan Lockhart, Shelley Maxa, Brad, Erin and Matthew Stewart; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Forrest Swan; two brothers: Thomas Clyde Graham and William Graham; and a sister, Alma Graham.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Jacksonville United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. William D. Milligan officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
