The IUP women’s and men’s basketball teams swept Seton Hill in a doubleheader Saturday night at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex.
The third-ranked IUP men recorded a 67-59 victory and pushed their winning streak to 15 games.
Sophomore Dante Lombardi (scored a team-high 16 points while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. Junior Anthony Glover added 12 points, four assists and three rebounds. Redshirt senior Devon Cottrell also scored 12 points while adding eight rebounds (five offensive), two assists, and one steal.
With the win the Crimson Hawks improve to 24-2 overall and 19-1 in PSAC play. The 15-game winning streak is tied for the longest streak under head coach Joe Lombardi. It also marks the 23rd straight PSAC West home win for IUP. Meanwhile, the Griffins fall to 11-14 behind an 8-13 mark in conference play.
The IUP women pushed their winning streak to seven games with a 79-66 victory.
Junior Megan Smith scored a game-high 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting while adding four rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. Redshirt sophomore Lauren Wolosik added 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting and grabbed six rebounds. Sophomore Brittany Robinson scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting while adding seven rebounds, four blocks and one steal.
With the win the Crimson Hawks improve to 19-5 overall and 17-3 in PSAC play. Meanwhile, the Griffins fall to 15-12 behind an 11-10 mark in conference play.
