Pittsburgh Pirates spring training is now in full swing, and Andrew McCutchen addressed the trade rumors that circulated around him during the off-season. In an article McCutchen wrote for The Players’ Tribune, McCutchen said that he did not have much of a say in the move to right field, but also said that he wanted to remain a Pirate. He said he tried to find the positives in the move to right field, and said he will be playing in Roberto Clemente’s position, which he calls a high honor.
He also acknowledged that last year was not up to his own high standards, and wants to work hard to show that he is still the talented player that Pittsburgh has seen over the last few years.
