IUP Hall of Fame quarterback Rich Ingold has passed away.
Ingold starred at Seton Lasalle, where he led them to two WPIAL championships. He was an all-state selection in his senior season. Ingold played at South Carolina in 1981, then transferred to IUP, where he set numerous records from 1983 to 1985. He also was the quarterbacks coach at IUP under Frank Cignetti in the early 1990’s.
Ingold played and coached in the Arena Football 2 league, where he holds the record for most wins by an Arena Football 2 coach. He was an inaugural member of the Arena Football Hall of Fame and was inducted into the IUP Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003.
Ingold was 53 years old.
