KANSAS CITY, Mo. – IUP men’s basketball continues to climb in the national rankings, reaching No. 3 in this week’s National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Top 25 poll, which was released on Tuesday.
The Crimson Hawks are on a 14-game win streak, and have increased their position in the Division II poll in each of the last seven weeks. With a pair of road wins last week, IUP improved to 23-2 overall, including an 18-1 mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
The No. 3 ranking is the highest for the program since being picked No. 2 in the 2010-11 NABC preseason coaches’ poll.
The two teams in front of the Crimson Hawks this week are Northwest Missouri State (23-0) at No. 1 and Fairmont State (23-1) at No. 2. Northwest Missouri received all 16 first place votes, while Fairmont made a three-spot jump from No. 5.
Sitting behind IUP at No. 4 is Bellarmine (22-3), followed by California Baptist (22-2) at No. 5.
Joining the Crimson Hawks from the PSAC are Kutztown (20-2) at No. 6 and Shippensburg (21-2) at No. 12.
D2SIDA Media Poll
The Crimson Hawks also moved up in Division II Media Top 25, sponsored by D2SIDA. IUP moving up two spots to No. 10 in the poll, the highest D2SIDA ranking this year.

IUP has three games left on the regular season schedule, starting with a home game against Seton Hill (11-12, 8-11 PSAC) this Saturday. Tipoff at the Kovalchick Complex is 7:30 p.m.
