Ronald E. Gallaher, 62, of Homer City, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at his residence.
A son of the late John T. and Helen Spaid Gallaher, he was born March 21, 1954, in Northern Cambria.
Mr. Gallaher was an independent postal contractor for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed working outside, mowing in the summer and doing most outdoor activities. He loved life. His motto was, “Life is good.”
He is survived by his wife, Sharon E. Mack Gallaher, of Homer City; four children: Eric Leightley, of Homer City; Mandi Hrabley and husband John, of Pittsburgh; Nathan Gallaher and Lyn Dixon, of Johnstown; Kara Gallaher and Kevin Mlakar, of Blairsville; a brother, Fred Gallaher and wife Kathryn, of Altoona; a sister, Dorothy Smith and husband Donald “Smitty”, of Ravenna, OH; two sisters-in-law: Linda Gallaher, of Northern Cambria; Helen Rice, of Cherry Tree; five grandchildren: Gage, Gavin and Galen Leightley, Maddison and Alleigh Mlakar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Neal Gallaher and John Gallaher.
Visitation and the funeral service are private with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Interment will be in Pineland Cemetery. Robinson-Lytle, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
