Ligonier Valley downed Homer-Center, 71-61, in a Heritage Conference Southern division matchup.
Rams led, 33-24, at the half and built a 16-point lead in the third before the Wildcats came storming back behind the three-point shooting of Corey Cavalier. The Wildcats pulled to within two points and had the ball late in the quarter, but the Rams scored the final four points of the quarter and led, 52-47.
Homer Center cut it to 52-50 on a Cavalier 3-pointer, but the Rams pulled away down the stretch.
Rams sophomore Marek Paola led all scorers with 27. Cavalier finished with 23 with all seven of his FGs from outside the arc. Tanner Yancy added 18 for the Wildcats, who drop to 7-6 on the season. Homer-Center travels to West Shamokin on Friday.
