Helen Rose “Tootska” (Hulena) Curnow, 89, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, January 07, 2017 at Country Manor, Kittanning, PA. She was born December 31, 1927 in Hannastown, PA. to Paul and Elizabeth (Durco) Hulena.
Helel was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA. She retired from Henry Printing in Greensburg, PA. She loved cooking, canning, doing ceramics, knitting and gardening, especially working in all of her flower beds. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her cats.
Helen was survived by her daughters, Helen Mae Palek and husband John “Jack” of Latrobe, PA and Karen M. Cashdollar and husband Robert T. of Shelocta, PA; grandchild, Paige Love and husband Joshua of Shelocta, PA; grandchild, Brett Cashdollar and wife Tiffany of Kittanning, PA; sister, Ann Jogun of Tennessee; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Ewing of Torrance, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her father and mother; husband, Archie M. Curnow in 2008; brothers, John, Joseph, Michael and Paul Hulena; and sister, Mary Koshurba.
Visitation will be at James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 10:00 AM to1:00 PM, at which time a blessing service will be held. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to a charity of your choice.
Interment will be at SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
