Over 1500 Penelec customers were without power this morning as two outages hit simultaneously in Indiana Borough and White Township.
The cause of the outage is still not known at this time, but Penelec initially reported it as “equipment failure”. Scott Surgeoner of Penelec reported that the outage on Twolick Drive in White Township and one on Seventh Street in Indiana Borough were connected. Reports on the scene at the Twolick outage revealed that the problems were not at the substation, but further down the line. Power was transferred to another substation until repairs could be made.
