Rosella “LaLa” (Gregg) Conerby, 98, of Heilwood, PA died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of James Ford and Esther Myrtle (Crawford) Gregg, she was born on August 14, 1918 in Cookport, Pa.
Rosella married Dwight “Coach” Bernard Conerby on December 23, 1950. They shared over 48 years of marriage until his death on October 15, 1999.
She was a longtime member of the Heilwood Presbyterian Church.
Rosella loved to play bingo, where she would play up to eighteen cards at a time. In her spare time, she could be found doing word searches and reading. One of her favorite pastimes was playing with her great niece Gracy.
Until the age of 97 Rosella had still lived alone at her home in Heilwood.
Rosella is survived by her sister, Maxine Hibbard of Waterford, PA and a number of nieces and nephews, including her four special nieces: Darla Hamilton; Joanna McCracken; Debbie Rodgers and Amy Cramer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dwight, her four brothers: Ralph; Eugene “Gene”; Benjamin and Kenneth Gregg and her six sisters: LaRue Clawson; Norma Patrick; Nina Fleming; Wava Gregg; Ruth Shrum and Ilene Huey.
Family and friends will be received from 1-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where immediately following the visitation a 4:00 p.m. funeral service will be held with Rev. Daniel Little officiating. Interment will be at Laurel Swamp Cemetery, Pine Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
Rosella’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Rustic Manor Personal Care Home for their care and kindness towards LaLa during her stay.
