Indiana School Board met last night and approved a resolution concerning the budget for the 2019-2020 school year.
The resolution said the board will not increase taxes for the next school year at a rate that exceeds the index of 2.9%, which was calculated by the state Department of Education. Superintendent Michael Vukovich broke down the numbers as to how much that maximum tax increase would be for district residents.

Vukovich also stated that the board may not necessarily need to increase taxes to that maximum amount.
In other business, the board also approved the district’s solicitor to obtain a preliminary value appraisal of the Indiana Mall property at a cost of $4,500. The board also accepted a $5000 donation from Mark Arbuckle made in honor of his sister Ellen Werner, a retired district vocal music teacher. The donation will be used towards the cost of sending some senior high choral students to the NAFME all-eastern region chorus festival.
