Indiana Borough council met last night for a brief planning session.
The planning session is part of a new meeting schedule for the council, which will see the first meeting of each month be the planning meeting and about two weeks later, the main voting meeting will take place.
During last night’s meeting, the board approved the 2019 appointments and approved the municipal tax and revenue anticipation note or TAN. This is an annual loan of $500,000 from Indiana First Bank that will help provide a bridge between borough expense needs and receipt of tax revenues. The loan is usually repaid in full by the end of the fiscal year.
The board was also introduced the new Parking coordinator for the borough, Benjamin Miller. He said that although he’s been on the job for a few days, he appreciated the state it was left to him in by Lt. Justin Schawl of the borough police department.
