State police say someone tried to pass yet another phony one-hundred dollar bill at an area establishment.
It happened yesterday morning at the Perkins restaurant along Oakland Avenue in White Township. A customer attempted to pay his bill with the counterfeit bill which, like others that have been passed at area businesses, had Chinese-language symbols printed on it. When informed that the bill was fake, the customer used another type of payment, so the restaurant was not out any money. The only description of the suspect is that he is a white male.
Police have made several arrests since the counterfeit hundreds were first identified in October after having been used at three businesses in downtown Indiana. There have been others bills passed in the Indiana area and in the Blairsville area in the past two months, but no more arrests.
